Night. A time of quiet, of peace, of rest, and now, a time of terror.
With an uncontrolled vampire plaguing the city, the Vampire Council of Brenton once again calls on Darien Ritter for help.
Overwhelmed with the issues of a new menagerie and plans for his wedding, Darien still manages to step up and answer the call. The only problem is, he suddenly finds himself a little too… human.

Review:

In this installment, we follow Vicky and Darien as they race to save his immortality. Vicky steps up and proves that she can handle being a vampire bride. Normally we see her as the assistant or just Darien's human girlfriend. This time around she shows that she can hold her on in a crisis. One of the things I love about this series is that Vicky is a strong female lead. Normally you would get a weak damsel in distress or a male hating female. Vicky is neither. She shows time and time again that she can stand toe to toe with Darien's enemies and hold her own. In this book she does have to make decisions that she normally would not. Thanks to fantastic writing, you can see her emotions pop off the page as well as her hesitancy to go through with her decisions.
Darien shows a different side of himself in this book. He is more laid back, more inviting in this book. I think almost being human again works well for him. He seemed to let go of some of the emotional walls that he had built up. no matter what though, Darien is my favorite vampire.
We see more of Elliot and Vanessa in this book. I hope that we get more of them. I think that they would make a great couple too.
Wetzel, again has written another great book. I love that she never lets you guess who the villain is in the book. You don't really figure it out till close to the end. Her writing keeps the reader entertained from beginning to end. Counting each book with the same lead characters, she is still able to create a unique and intriguing storyline.
Overall, I loved this book and it is a great addition to this series. I look forward to reading more books from this author in the future.
