I love Lila Rose's books and Julian has to be my favorite character. He brings a lighter side to the dark, that can be the MC. In Black Out, we saw a glimpse of a different Julian. He has a past that was hidden until this book Coming Out. I loved reading about how Julian and Mattie got together. Two people who are meant to be together, in a story that is full of emotion you may need Kleenex.

Julian's parents are evil personified. How two people could send there son away to as pedophile and allow him to be abused, baffles me. They treat him horribly because he doesn't fit into the cookie cutter lifestyle that they expect. Unfortunately, in today's world there are actually people who treat their kids this way. You're supposed to be loved unconditionally. I'm getting up on my soapbox. Back to the task at hand, the review. =) Julian's character rises above all of this and proves why he is such a fan favorite.
Mattie is at a crossroads in this book. He has to learn to accept himself for who he is. When Julian appears, he gets the push needed to be his true self. His love for Julian is shown, especially when he and his father go to bat for Julian against his parents.
Lila Rose is a fantastic writer. She has a way to bring entertainment and emotion to all of her books. I can't wait to read more from this series. This book is highly recommended.
