I loved Twisted in Corrupted. He has such a great friendship with Lucy, I couldn't wait for him to get his own book. Twisted has a past that no one really understands. He refuses to give any details away but based on his scars you know it was rough. I think he never thought he would settle down, probably because of his past. Fate drops Nikki in his lap and things change. She is exactly what he needs. Nikki isn't some frail female. She's a trash talking, no holds barred female. Nikki is hiding something from Twisted. She doesn't want to tell him because she feels no matter what, the situation will not change. She just wants to enjoy her time with him until she is forced to leave.
Most would wonder why Nikki just didn't tell Twisted the situation from the beginning. I feel that if she did, the MC wouldn't have backed Twisted in helping her. At the beginning, she had no stake with the MC. It took time and some tragic events to bring everything to the point that they would help. It seems bad but I understand it and the author's reasoning behind this.
The author doesn't bring you to the top of the climatic hill until close to the end. I think she did a wonderful job in do that. It forces you to stick with the story till the end. Had you reached the climatic part too soon, it would not of held as much emotion. Let me tell you, the author is good at writing emotion and creating a dark tale.
I loved everything about the book and I'm completely addicted to the series. I can't wait till the next book.
My Rating:
5 out of 5 Stars
Alexis Noelle lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with her husband, and three kids. On top a writing career, she is a full-time student and a full-time mom. She loves spending time with her kids, although she has to hide the computer from them when she is writing! She love being active and being outdoors, especially if it involves any kind of shopping.
She has always been passionate about writing. She loves to read romance books and feels like being able to lose yourself in a book is one of the more exciting aspects. The books she loves to read and write will be ones that make you feel for the characters. Ashley believes that you should have an opinion on every character in a book whether you love them, hate them, or think they are up to something. She also believes that the most important critic is your reader, so she loves to hear from the readers. She want her fans to be open & talk to her about what they want for the characters in the story, and what they would like to see happen.
