Series: The Heroes of the Dixie Wardens MC #7
Author: Lani Lynn Vale
Genre: Adult, Motorcycle Club Romance
Release Date: January 6, 2016
Sometimes the heart wants what it can’t have.
That’s the motto Silas Mackenzie, the president of The Dixie Wardens MC, has lived by since he was a young man.
Now he’s well on the way to middle age, has three grown children, and he’s lusting after a woman he should definitely stay away from.
Especially not one that his ex-girlfriend had given birth to, and happened to be only twenty seven years old.
Sawyer isn’t a young girl at heart, though.
She’s seen the inside of a jail cell for eight long years, and every one of them she spent paying for a crime she didn’t commit.
Silas Mackenzie knows as soon as he sees her that the girl has sacrificed enough.
And maybe…just maybe…so has Silas.
It’s time for Silas Mackenzie to get what he deserves, and put a little bit of happy back into Sawyer’s world, one rough, bearded kiss at a time.
Lani Lynn Vale, thank you for writing Silas' book. It was everything thing I would want and then some. Fans of this series know that Silas was the most mysterious character in the series. Second to him is Dixie Normous, aka Santa Claus. :) I am so glad that Silas got this book. Since book one, this character has piqued my interest. We all know that he is ex CIA but we didn't know much about that. Well get prepared because we are getting the full story.
Silas is older but he is a sexy older. Silas knows he is hot and owns it. But there is much more to him than just his good looks. He has a past that haunts him. His job with the CIA has created enemies for him and they are trying to take everything he cares about away from him. I've always viewed Silas as a badass but in this book we see a softer side, one that shows his vulnerability. He meets Sawyer and he sees a chance at happiness again. I loved his scenes with her. He helps to bring her back to the person she once was. Sawyer had a pretty good life up until one night took it all away. She has lived with the consequences of a crime she didn't commit until Silas comes along. He is determined to prove the world that they are wrong about Sawyer and that she didn't do anything wrong. These two are perfect for one another and I am so glad Vale finally gave Silas a book.
Vale is my go to author for a guaranteed fantastic book. Everything she writes has emotion, humor, and suspense. It's enough to keep the reader on the edge of their seats. As I've said, I've looked forward to this book since Silas first stepped foot on the page. I wasn't disappointed, the story was everything I expected and more. I'm not sure how Vale does it, creating multiple interlocking series and they all are different and so good. Whatever she does, I hope she keeps doing it. I look forward to more books in the future from her. Her books are must reads.
