4 Star Review for The Family Man by Kelly Eadon

THE FAMILY MAN
Kelly Eadon
Releasing July 5th, 2016
Forever

TEMPTATION NEVER TASTED SO SWEET...

When life hands lemons to Beth Beverley, she makes mouthwatering lemon squares. Mostly because they're coveted by the sexy single dad who owns Belmont's most popular coffee shop. But that's where her crush on Griffin has to end. Her sweet treats are selling like crazy cakes in his shop, and she doesn't mix business with pleasure. Too bad his sinful smile has her flirting with the idea of forever.

Griffin Hall definitely needs to keep his eyes--and his hands--off Beth. Since he's traded in late-night gigs and partying for bedtime stories with his little girl in his arms, he doesn't have time for anything else. So why does Beth's big heart and easy way with his daughter make him finally feel alive again? But there's a little secret Beth doesn't know, something he can't bear to tell her . . .

The Family Man is a sweet romance. It centers around single dad Griffin and baker Beth. Beth is hesitant in giving into her crush on Griffin. She finally gives in and begins a romance with Griffin. You can tell that they both are holding back a bit. Griffin because he's trying to figure out how to manage romance and his life. Beth is holding back because she is trying to figure out where she fits in his life. When an incident happens and gets both of them running scared, they are able to finally step back and evaluate their relationship. They finally see how much they mean to each other.

I was unsure of their relationship at first. I felt that Beth had become a glorified babysitter and Griffin was in a relationship with because it was comfortable. When everything goes down, you see that they truly care for each other. Their relationship is genuine and stronger than before.

The author did a great job with this book. She is able to create a world that is supported by all of the characters, not just a few. This gives the reader a more dynamic story, not something that is one dimensional. It is an enjoyable beach read.

~*~ Review ~*~ My Melody by T.J. West

My Melody
By T.J. West

Cover Model: Craig Gierish

People think I'm a ladies man. On the outside I look like your typical stud who is only out for sex, but there is more to me than just my rocker persona. Don't get me wrong, I love to entertain the ladies with a grin to melt their panties, a body made for sin and fingers that can play a woman's body like they play my bass guitar, but there's more to me than what meets the eye. I come from a good, tight knit family who instilled in me to always go after what I wanted....

And I wanted her...

I had a heart full of love to give to one woman, there was just one problem, finding the woman who wanted it...

Until her...she was older, wiser, showed me things I had no clue about. Our relationship was supposed to be fun, until she took it one step too far and I realized I was way in over my head.

I wanted more....

My Melody is the story of Melody and Wayne. We met Melody in the previous book, she's Harmony's older sister. Melody is a free spirit. She doesn't want to be tied down. A lot of it is her personality and fear of losing someone like she did her parents. Wayne shows up and tries to sway her. His reaction to her is out of character. He is a playboy who is just looking for his next conquest. His encounter with Melody changes him. All the things he avoided are now what he wants. With Melody, he has a battle before him. Stubborn as ever, Melody refuses to be swayed by his sweet talk. Their love story is a roller coaster ride and one that was enjoyable to read.

Most are probably going to read this book and they might not like Melody. Melody didn't seek out to hurt Wayne. Her fear is legitimate. She lost two people that she loved, years prior. Her greatest fear is that if she loved someone, she would lose them too. I understand the concern. So I was able to connect with her character. She is a great character but I feel she had to grow up too fast. At a young age she was forced to raise her sister and I think that played a hand in her free spirit lifestyle.

Wayne surprised me in this book. I never expected to see him seeking out a relationship. He always acted as if he was allergic to them. I guess he was bond to find his kryptonite and Melody is that. She has the key to bring him to his knees and I don't think Wayne would have it any other way.

I like the way West has written this series. It is all music related but it is not bogged down by it. She has written a series where each book can be read as a stand alone or together. I like that I can come in midway into the series and not feel as if I am completely lost. I enjoyed reading this book, maybe because I can see bits of myself in Melody. I did find that it was a bit sluggish at first but once it got me, I was hooked till the end.

Excerpt

"Sweetness." His voice melts my insides. It immediately makes me wet. We left each other on such bad terms the other day, I want to forget it ever happened, but I am a stubborn person. I hold on to grudges, which is so not cool. I can feel him right behind me. His breath lands on the back of my neck, giving me goosebumps.
I slowly turn around and lean against the jukebox. We are almost nose to nose, lips to lips, he is so close to me. He makes it hard to turn away. "I didn't come here to see you,” my voice cracks. My nerves are getting to me. I need to get back in control. I clear my throat. “June invited me for lunch." His eyes make their way down to my cleavage. I see his lips twitch. He’s trying hard not to smile and be his cocky, gorgeous self. I enjoy his cocky attitude, immensely. Some women might be offended by it, but for some reason it turns me on.
His eyes go back up to mine. "Okay...cool, I guess,” he shrugs.
I know he wants me to say I was there to see him. He seems slightly disappointed. I guess it means he doesn’t let things bother him for very long; he lets go of any anger pretty fast. Unlike me. "I...uh...see ya." I try to move past him, but he keeps me caged up against the jukebox by placing his hands on either side of me. Now we are super close.
"Babe, come on,” he quietly argues.
I can’t control what comes out of my mouth next. He is so hard to turn away. "What's your address? I'll come by later.” His eyes light up, then bites that bottom lip of his. Wetness between my legs. “But not to talk. To play,” I remind him.
"Won't be home till late. We have some publicity shit happening."
"Works for me. Just text me when you get home." Just when I think he’s going to allow me out of his cage, and the second I blink, he dives his tongue inside my mouth. He forces mine to work with his. It’s hot, slow and so very sensual, I can’t help but whimper. I so desperately want to wrap my arms around him, but I keep them to myself -  since that’s the only thing I have control over; they stay planted up against the jukebox. He doesn’t touch me either, which turns me on even more so. His hands stay beside me as we continue to kiss. My nipples harden. They’re pressed up against his rock hard chest. I want to strip us both free and be naked with him, but I forget we are in a public room. Without warning, he rapidly unlocks our lips and steps away.
He swipes the edge of his lips with his thumb. "Something to tie me over,” he proudly mentions. So smug. So cocky, so…so insanely hot.
I watch him walk away. He knows I am looking at his tight ass because he grabs it, then squeezes the nice hump. He turns his head and winks at me before he exits the door. I laugh. He is totally crazy and hilarious, I seriously have it so bad for him.

I'm a stay at home Mom of two teenagers. I became a self published author in 2014 after being inspired by many self indie authors. I have enjoyed writing for a long time, but never thought my imagination would carry me to this point in my life. After many years of losing my passion, and from enjoying raising my children I am finally at a place where I can reach for my dreams. Whether I become a best seller or not, I am loving the journey I am on and will continue to write as long as my readers are willing to read my stories.

Synopsis

Beau McIntyre is driven by a past smothered in blood and covered in bruises. Though tragic, it's help shape his future and define the man he's become.

Day in and day out, he's reminded of his failures in the faces of the women he saves. But what happens when one girl threatens to blow all of that apart? Will Beau lose his grip on the controlled lifestyle he abides by?

Mackenzie Moore is running from a past she needs to forget. A past that has molded her into a woman living in fear. One fateful night, her carefully constructed world is pulled down around her, forcing her to make a decision she's not sure she can live with.

Turning to the Knights Rebels MC for help is the last thing she wants, but everything she needs.

Can Beau save her once again, or is what she running to far worse than what she’s running from?

My Review
Infatuation is the story of Beau and Mackenzie. Beau is the quiet one who has made it his mission to save every woman he can from an abusive relationship. On one of his missions he saved Mackenzie. She's the one woman who seems to be able to crack his armor. Beau never saw himself as a man who would settle down, that is until Mackenzie walked back in. Mackenzie is trying to run from her ex and past and she runs to Beau. She cares for Beau and I think it goes beyond him saving her. Both of them have feelings that run deep but are apprehensive about starting anything. Both of them finally give up their struggle and take a leap of faith that pays off in the end.

I enjoyed reading about Beau but I felt jipped. It was implied that Beau was a Dom. It was said that he was very kinky. The most kink and Dom action we get is some tying up and nipple clamps. I get the author's reasoning behind it though. Mackenzie just came from a very controlling relationship and the author didn't want to throw her into something else that was controlling. Even the author made a point of pointing out that each instance was different. Mackenzie's ex wanted to strip her down and take away all her free will. Beau wants to heighten their sexual experience. He doesn't want to harm her or control her like her ex did. So I understand the author's purpose but it doesn't change the fact that I wanted more.

Brooks and Kelly's relationship changed in this book. It's heartbreaking to read about their characters having to go through what they are going through. I know that the author isn't going to leave us hanging with them for too long. My hopes are that they get a book soon.

Overall the book was good and lived up to the expectations of its predecessors. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Excerpt

“Kenzie, I’m heading out. Will you be all right on your own?” I call out to her but receive no reply. Her door is ajar a few inches, so I knock, letting the force push it open further.

She is standing there. Her pert tits take my attention first and instantly my cock stirs back to life. She doesn’t stop to cover herself and I don’t look away.

“I’m heading out.” I manage some cough mumble thing, my throat becoming dry. She doesn’t say anything and her eyes don’t leave me. I should turn away, let her change in private, but I’m lost in the sight of her.

The soft glow of her bedside lamp highlights her against the dark room but even from this distance, I can see every one of those goose bumps glazing her skin.

We continue to stand silent for what feels like hours, until the soft whisper of her nightgown falling to the floor shocks me back, like the first momentary sonic boom that fills the skies on a Fourth of July weekend. My eyes follow its descent, pausing at the lace covering her pussy.

Jesus, fuck, turn around, man.

I swallow past my hunger and try to will myself to leave, but fail when her fingers hook into the side of her lace panties.

“Mackenzie, don’t.” My warning comes out strangled, my resolve slipping, but it doesn’t stop her. She continues to undress, sliding her panties down her legs then stepping out of them, leaving her completely exposed to me.

She’s beautiful. Fucking perfect. Every fucking inch of her. But there’s an innocence to her. One touch, one taste is going to destroy me.

What the fuck is wrong with you, man? Go to her. Fucking take her.

“Darlin’,” I say with a heavy breath, forcing my eyes away from her naked body and back up to her face. Her pink, plump lips, swollen from our kisses, slightly part as she draws in a long breath.

“You’re making this really fucking hard to stay away.” My voice cracks as my gaze catches her hand sliding between her legs.

“If you’re not going to help me, then leave.” Her voice is barely a whisper as her finger slips between her pussy lips disappearing from view. And fuck it turns me on.

Before I realize what I’m doing, my legs carry me to her. Not giving it a second thought, I slap her hand away from her pussy and pull her naked body to me. She comes willingly, a small cry filling the room at my touch.

“Fuck,” I groan, knowing I’m close to losing control. “I need you to think this through, darlin’. Be real fucking sure, ‘cause once we start, I don’t think I’ll be able to stop,” I tell her when her chest hits mine.

“I’ve never wanted anything more, Beau.” My name coming from her lips in a plea cancels out all my reservations, and before I can comprehend what’s happening, I have her on her back on the bed.

Pulling off my cut and shirt in record time, I flip the button of my jeans. Mackenzie comes up on her elbows and watches as I lose my jeans.

“Holy shit, you have it pierced.” She looks down at my cock, intrigue turning to wonder.

“I have two.” I point to the Apadravya piercing. The small barbell runs through the head of my penis. I then pull to show her the Frenum piercing on the underside of my cock.

“Did they hurt?” She bites her lip, her eyes not leaving the piercing.

“I survived. Had it done years ago.” She nods but doesn’t say anything.

“You keep looking at me like that and I don’t think I’ll last long,” I admit. Her inquisitive eyes move from my piercing up to my face and I realize it wouldn’t matter what way she looked at me. I’m wound up so fucking tight from not having my cock in a woman for God knows how long, I’m not going to last long regardless.

“Like what?” She looks back down at my cock and it bounces its own hello.

“Like you want to wrap your mouth around my dick and milk it dry,” I offer the visual, the picture playing out in my mind.

Yep, there is no way I’m going back on this, now.

“No one has ever spoken to me like this before.” Her teeth graze her bottom lip, and I don’t know if she’s afraid of me, or fucking turned on.

“You want me to stop talking to you this way?” I ask, placing a knee down on the bed and moving over her.

“I don’t think so.” She lays back, her dark hair spilling around her.

“You don’t think so? It’s a yes or no question, darlin’.” I keep my eyes on her, like I need to memorize every inch of her body.

“No,” she answers instantly.

“Then I won’t.”
