Matthew “Wolf” Steel hated flying commercial. Luckily his job as a Navy SEAL meant he didn’t have to do it very often. He’d been unlucky enough to be assigned a middle seat on the cramped jet, but fortunately for him, the woman next to him was willing to switch seats with him. Hoping for a relaxing flight, Wolf was pleasantly surprised at the good conversation and sense of humor the woman had as they flew 36,000 feet over the countryside.

When Caroline boarded the plane to Virginia to move across the country for her new job she never expected to be seated next to the hottest guy she’d ever seen. She also never expected he’d be so easy to talk to. She knew he’d never be interested in talking to her if he hadn’t been trapped in the seat next to her, but it was a nice way to spend a long plane ride.

Neither Wolf nor Caroline were prepared for a terrorist hijacking of their plane, but if Caroline thought that would be the last time she’d see, or need, Wolf, she’d be sorely mistaken.

Protecting Caroline is a great start to the SEAL of Protection Series by Susan Stoker. Nothing like an alpha male finding his perfect match. That is what happens with Wolfe and Caroline.
I loved Caroline’s character because she is strong and independent. She is not looking to lean on a man but is willing to do so with Wolfe. Wolfe is a character that was born to be a leader. He takes no punches and is willing to die for his friends. Wolfe and Caroline are perfect together because they complement each other. One doesn’t over power the other. I loved reading about their love story.
The one character that I look forward to reading more about is Tex. He is like the silent partner of the team. He is the tech guru and can find out any information on someone. Tex has a story that hasn’t really been divulged yet. I can’t wait to find out more about him.
Stoker has a way with writing a romance but not making it all about sex. She helps build the character’s relationships without masking it with sex. She tells a story with each book and sets it up so the reader does not have to read the whole series. I recommend reading the whole series but it is not necessary. Her stories are consistent and flow easily with every page. She is becoming one of my favorite authors to read.

4 out of 5 Stars!!!
