Title; A Hidden Element (The Element Trilogy)
Author: Donna Galanti
Publisher: Imajin Books
Page Count: 270
Genre: Paranormal/Suspense

Blurb:

Evil lurks within…

When Caleb Madroc is used against his will as part of his father’s plan to breed a secret alien community and infiltrate society with their unique powers, he vows to save his oppressed people and the two children kept from him.

Seven years later, Laura and Ben Fieldstone’s son is abducted, and they are forced to trust a madman’s son who puts his life on the line to save them all. The enemy’s desire to own them—or destroy them—leads to a survival showdown.

Laura and Ben must risk everything to defeat a new nemesis that wants to rule the world with their son, and Caleb may be their only hope—if he survives. But must he sacrifice what he most desires to do so?

When we left Laura and Ben in A Human Element, we thought that they would have their HEA. In the follow up, A Hidden Element, we a thrust 15 years in the future. Laura and Ben had their baby. So life should be grand, right? Well, their son Charlie is not your typical 14 year old. He looks different then the other kids and he has powers that he tries to keep hidden. In Hidden Element, the enemy is someone connected to Laura and Charlie. Someone from Elyon.
I enjoyed reading about the continuing story of the characters. Charlie's character is one that most people can associate with. He feels that he doesn't fit in and is looking for a place to belong. I sure some of us have felt that way before.
I feel bad for Caleb's character. He wants to care for his father but feels that his father's motives are wrong. He loves his parent but hates what he is doing. I hope to see more of him in future books. He is a strong character with an interesting story.
I'm not a big fan of Suspenseful Paranormal, but Galanti has a way of pulling you in. I enjoy her books. They remind me of the Leech Series by james crawford
When choosing to read this book, I recommend reading A Human Element first. To fully understand Charlie you need to know how Laura and Ben came to be.
Recommended read for those Paranormal lovers.
