The years that were taken can never be repaid.
The memories stolen can never be returned.
But I had to move forward…for him, my son.
Noah had spent years wondering what he could have done differently. Wondering what he’d done wrong to make Stacey leave. The heartache from her absence and the what-ifs of their past eventually turned to anger—and then disgust.
It took years for him to move on, and once he did, his past came thundering back, revealing a secret.
A secret that would forever change his future.
Alena had waited for the chance to have more with Noah. He was an enigma, a man of mystery, yet she wasn’t quite ready to give up on him. She knew there was more to him than what he allowed those around him to see. She was drawn to his charm and his calm nature. With an uprooted past of her own, she craved a little stability more than anything. But when things between them finally begin to grow into more, their relationship is tested.
Will it all be too much for Alena to handle?
Or will she decide to stay and be a part of…Noah’s Journey?
In Noah's Journey, we follow the final Sawyer brother on his
search for romance. Noah is the quieter brother. He was burned in the past and
vowed to never seek out love again. With his brothers all finding love, it was
inevitable that the Noah would fall too. Enter Alena. She is Amber's cousin.
Alena sees Noah and knows that she wants him. She also knows that he has walls
up to protect himself and she has to find a way to bring them down. She
eventually makes headway with Noah and everything seems to be going well.
Noah's ex shows up and she has a secret. Slowly the relationship crumbles as
neither one knows what to do with the revelation that Noah has received. Even
though their relationship is new, they know they want to be together, so they
decide to fight for their chance at love.
I love Harms' books but this one was my least favorite.
While the previous Sawyer books had a more developed storyline, i feel that the
author did not develop this one as much. For instance, Alena has a strained
relationship with her parents. We get a little snippet of her feelings towards
them. I would have loved to have seen more interaction between them. Her
feelings towards her parents could be the reason behind her insecurities with
her relationship with Noah. Had we got to see more of that, it all probably
would have made more sense. Also, the story with Noah's ex seemed to be
building towards this big climax towards the end. Really it kind of dropped off
and ended. It left me scratching my head. Here you are at a bar where you can
have this huge confrontation. Where Alena can stand up against Stacey and
publicly stake her claim for Noah. She doesn't. She just runs off with her tail
between her legs. Why Alena? Why? Finally, in the epilogue Harms describes an
emotional situation between Alena and Noah. It is something that happened
"off the page", so we don't get the whole story. My question is why
this wasn't written more into the story? Why not extend the book and give us
this emotional story that would have completely changed the atmosphere of this
book? Extending that part of their story would have given it a more emotional
impact and taken it over the top.
Ms. Harms, no matter how I feel about this book, you are
still one of my favorite authors. I just wanted so much more from this book. I still <3 you and look forward to future books.

C.A. Harms is like any other addicted reader. She enjoys happy endings and HEA love stories. She hasn't always been a lover of Romance and had once been addicted to a good Mystery. Just recently she has taken on a new liking and now is a full blown Romance novel addict.
She lives in Illinois and enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. You will always find her with her kindle or paperback in hand as it is her favorite pass time.
